I am selling our 1972 Datsun 240z. It’s been a long time coming but I think it’s time to let go. We have had no time to enjoy the car the last few years and I think it would be best to sell it to someone who would give it a little more attention.
This was a fully restored 240z – new interior, exterior paint, floor boards have all been done from 2005 onward. I have most of the receipts for the jobs done since then (pictures attached of some, lots more receipts). Engine runs perfect and strong, no issues that we’ve encountered.
I will be completely transparent with the car, there are some minor flaws – minor rock chips here and there but not that bad, no rust, the gear shifter centering ring is worn so it wobbles but shifts fine and transmission is strong, clutch still grabs hard, doors don’t close without slamming due to the new weather stripping and striker misalignment. Rear left turn signal is works on occasion and left brake light doesn’t work. It could use a nice detail being under the car cover for so many years. Other than these minor inconveniences, the car is mint inside and out and everything works. Car only goes into the shop for regular oil changes and run once in a while, then back under the car cover.
The only modifications that were done were cosmetic – wheels, steering wheel, front lip and trunk spoiler. I don’t have the original wheels or steering wheel. I’ve lost those items during the last couple of moves we had. I have the original radio but it needs to be fixed. Those are the only items you would need to make it a collector.
It comes with all the receipts/invoices that were done to the car, magazines, manuals and books.
Selling price is $60,000.
