This car has been a daily driver for the past 7 years. During that time I put about 30k miles on it, driving 10 miles a day, with a trip to the bay area once or twice a year. Engine and carbs were rebuilt by previous owner. Although the car runs and drives as is, it’s a about time for a more thorough restoration. There is a little bit of (mostly) surface rust in the usual spots. The car came to me without bumpers. No heater core, ac, or stereo.
Stock 2.4l, 4spd
Lots of new parts in the past year and a half:
– new set of tires last summer
– new brake booster (last week),
– new brake master cylinder
– new new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder
– new starter
– new alternator
– upgraded aluminum radiator
– new radiator hoses
– new fan clutch
– new water pump
– new spark plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor
*clutch and pressure plate were replaced and have literally less than 10 miles on them, but it felt a little off like it may not be gripping 100%. So this may be an issue and part of why price is so low.
Upgraded electronic distributor from a 1979 280zx.
The car also comes with a brand new set of side markers, and a nice set of badges for the pillars after body and paint is done. Also included are two books, the haynes manual and “How to restore your datsun z-car”. Currently has a 180 thermostat, and with the bigger radiator it runs pretty cold. So also included is a 190 thermostat that works, and ten cans of spray paint in gloss grey.
I also just paid the registration which is good through june, 2017. Car is smog exempt.
Priced for a quick sale. I need to move on to other things, and don’t have the time, the space, or the resources to spend on this. So it can be a good project for someone who does.
